Lawrence Abraham, 90, of Harwinton, CT, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Valerie Manor surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Carmella (Pedone) Abraham.
Larry was born February 7, 1926, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Charles and Genevieve Abraham. He was employed by the Torrington Company in the Shipping and Receiving Department until his retirement. He served his country with U.S. Army during the Korean War.
An avid Red Sox and New York Giants fan, he enjoyed woodworking and was a jack of all trades. He loved his time spent with his children, grandkids, and just being with his family and friends.
He is survived by three sons, Robert (Bernice) Abraham of Harwinton, Daniel (Cindy) Abraham of Torrington, Thomas Abraham and his girlfriend Lauren Elias of Harwinton; seven grandchildren, Heather Abraham, Roxanne Abraham, Alan Abraham, Kelli Morales, Stephanie Zampaglione, Gage Abraham, Rylei Abraham; one great grandson, Jacob Abraham, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Yorker.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2016, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Road, Harwinton, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
