Lavina R. (Julian) Curtin

Lavina R. (Julian) Curtin, 90, of Winsted, CT, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016. She was the wife of the late Paul F. Curtin.
Lavina was born August 28, 1925, in Winsted, CT, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lavina (Cadrain) Julian. Lavina graduated from St. Anthony’s School, and attended the Hartford School of Music. Mother Bernadette of St. Anthony School called Lavina “my little songbird”. She was a beautiful coloratura singer and sang at almost every Sunday Mass until she retired at 40 years old. She also sang at different places throughout Connecticut. She was employed at the office of Dano Electric until her retirement.
She is survived by one brother, Paul Julian and one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Julian, both of Winsted, CT.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow at Forest View Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
