Kevin Hackett of Southbury, Ct passed away at Waterbury hospital after succumbing to ongoing illnesses and a recent infection. He was 67 years old, born in Waterbury, Ct on May 14, 1956, to J. Franklyn Hackett and Elizabeth (Burnes) Hackett.
Kevin is survived by his sisters Ellen (Hackett) Pannone of Monroe, CT, Nancy E. Hackett of Rockport, MA and brother, Jeffery F. Hackett of Glastonbury, CT. He was predeceased by both his parents and his sister Jane (Hackett) Mone of Southbury, CT. Kevin is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and his 2 grandnieces, who knew him as the loveable and generous “Uncle Kevin”.
Kevin attended JF Kennedy high school and Mattatuck Community College, graduating from Post College in 1980. He was employed by the State of CT in various administrative positions until he was retired with disability in 1992. Kevin was a lifelong boater and fisherman, always sharing his catch with family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Patriots and Giants, and the teams from University of Michigan and Notre Dame. Kevin was devoted to his father, Frank, visiting him often and sharing his love of all things Connecticut.
Burial is arranged through Cook Funeral Home and will be private at the family plot in Torrington, CT. Condolences may be left through the Cook website.
