Kenneth C. Thomas, Jr.

Kenneth C. Thomas, Jr. 72, of Torrington, CT, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Hartford Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Mary Jane (Conforti) Thomas for 50 years.

He was born April 7, 1943, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Lois (Markham) and Kenneth Thomas, Sr.  A master mechanic, he was employed by Torrington Ford for almost 50 years, until his retirement.  His passion for cars included his prize possession, a 1967 Mustang.  He lovingly built his two car garage, which brought him great joy and where he entertained family and friends, and also where he would sit and wave to them, always with a smile, as they drove by.   He enjoyed cooking, camping, and doing yard work which kept his home in pristine condition.

In addition to his wife Mary Jane, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth R. Thomas and his wife Karen, Michael C. Thomas, both of Torrington; one sister, Nancy Evers, of Litchfield and two grandchildren, Emma and Kyle Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2016, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  at Cook Funeral Home.
