Kathleen "Cookie" (Alicky) Waltos

Kathleen “Cookie” (Alicky) Waltos, 91, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  She was the wife of Howard Waltos for 48 years.

Cookie was born July 20, 1930, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Frank and Ernestine Alicky.  After her graduation from Good Council College in White Plains, NY, and from Western Connecticut college with Masters Degree, she was employed by the Torrington Board of Education, teaching grammar school for 35 years.   She served her community as member of the Torrington Board of Public Safely and was a longtime volunteer with the St. Jude Children’s Telethon.  Cookie was very involved with local politics and was a member of the Democratic Town Committee for many years.   She was an avid reader who also loved to shop, loved animals and especially enjoyed spending time at her and Howard’s home on Price Edward Island.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis New Cemetery, 863 South Main Street, Torrington, CT.
