Josephine (Matrascia) Mougin

Josephine “Jo” (Matrascia) Mougin, 95, of Torrington and Goshen, CT, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Waterbury, Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Edward Mougin.

Jo was born in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Carmine and Rose Matrascia.  A graduate of Torrington High School, she was employed by the Torrington Company as a clerk until her retirement.  When her husband was alive, they enjoyed fishing and joy riding in their boats on Tyler Lake.  She participated in exercise classes at the Sullivan Senior Center, and she enjoyed bowling at the Knights of Columbus for many years.  She was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter Church.

Jo is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends in both Torrington and Goshen.  She was preceded in death by a brother, Patsy Matrascia and a sister, Rose Marinelli

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2016, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning, May 21st, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
