Joseph Peter Slevinsky

Joseph Peter Slevinsky, 58, of Thomaston, CT, passed away April 16, 2015. He was born November 10, 1956, the son of the late John and Rose (Holicki) Slevinsky, Jr.

Joe leaves behind those close to his heart; a son Mitchell and his wife Mae Slevinsky, and their daughter Claire of South China, ME; a daughter Nicole Slevinsky of Portland, ME. He is survived by two brothers, Richard and his wife Linda Slevinsky of Torrington; John and his wife Deborah of Simsbury, and a sister, JoAnn Neddermann and her husband Joseph of Torrington. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Joe held strong bonds with those he loved, and will be missed by Janet Slevinsky, cousin Patricia Ryan, 'sister' Sue Voghel, 'brother' David White, Wally Foell, Al Grabowski, and many cherished friends.

Joe was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, godfather, cousin, and friend. He was a self-employed woodworker known for creating beautiful kitchens and artistic pieces of furniture and cabinetry. Joe enjoyed hunting and camping, and dreamed of being a mountain man.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a remembrance of Joe on Tuesday, April 21 from 6-8 pm at the Torrington Lodge of Elks BPOE 372, 70 Litchfield Street, Torrington, CT.
