Joseph R. Petricone, Sr.

Joseph R. Petricone, Sr., 71, was reunited with his beloved wife Anne when he entered into eternal life on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

Born December 23, 1943 in Torrington, CT, he was the son of the late Fiore and Edith (Barbara) Petricone.  A lifelong member of the Torrington community, Joe followed in his father’s footsteps as Owner of Petricone’s Pharmacy.    Joe was a graduate of St. Francis School, Torrington High School Class of 1961, and UCONN School of Pharmacy Class of 1966.  He served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War, where he served and was Honorably Discharged from the Medical Service Corps.  Steadfast in his faith, in his Italian heritage and to his profession, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former member of St. Peter School Board, a longtime member of the St. Peter Holy Name Society, Sons of Italy, UNICO, and of the Connecticut Pharmaceutical Association.  Respected and trusted in the community, he was a mentor and friend to many and he will be missed dearly.

Joe is survived by two sons, Joseph R. Petricone, Jr., and daughter-in-law Deirdre of New Hartford, John D. Petricone and daughter-in-law Ashley of Torrington; a brother Fiore Robert Petricone and sister-in-law Janet of Litchfield; a sister Judith Lynch and brother-in-law Peter of Uxbridge, MA; sister-in-law Lorraine Petricone of Hartford; four grandchildren, Victoria, Cecilia, Daniel and Zander, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Petricone.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
