Joseph Lovallo

Joseph Lovallo, 92, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Valerie Manor.  He was the beloved husband of Frances (Toro) Lovallo for 65 years.

Joseph was born June 25, 1922, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Leonardo and Marie (Genovese) Lovallo.  He served his country with the US Army during World War II, enlisting during February of 1943, and honorably discharged during February of 1946.  Among the awards and decorations he received during his Honorable Discharge were the Good Conduct Meda, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, and the Victory Medal.  He was employed by Stella Doro Biscuit Company for 40 years, until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of the Concordia Lodge #20, the Sullivan Senior Center, St. Peter Holy Name Society, and was a lifelong communicant of St. Peter Church.

In addition to his devoted wife, Frances, his is survived by one daughter, Jo-Anne and son-in-law Alan Gauger of Torrington; two grandchildren, Nicole and her husband Brian Dulak of New Hartford, Wesley Gauger of Torrington; two great grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary Dulak, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Vincent Lovallo.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded.  Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
