John W. Todor

John W. Todor, 76, of Torrington, CT passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Cathleen (Marchand) Todor for 42 years.

John was born September 7, 1948, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late John and Marion (Wright) Todor. He was a graduate of Torrington High School and attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College. He served his Country with the U.S. Army National Guard, honorably discharged in September of 1974. He was employed by S.N.E.T. as a Central Office Technician until his retirement. As a realtor, he enjoyed helping people find their forever homes. John was a talented musician and enjoyed playing various instruments. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed his time on the course. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Heather Mahar and her husband, Eric of Torrington and his son, David Todor and his wife Lynsie of Torrington. He was the proud “Papa” to Nolan, Avery and Ayla Mahar and Charlotte, Bennett and Wyatt Todor. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Marilyn Marchand.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
