J. Edward DeLisle

J. Edward DeLisle, 79, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, January 21, 2022.  He was the husband of Karen (Gay) DeLisle for ​55 years.

Mr. DeLisle was born in Waterbury, CT, on February 18, 1942, the son of the late Jean B. and Angeline (Roy) DeLisle.  He attended Litchfield High School.  After serving two years in the Army in Germany, he worked at Union Hardware Company and became a Toolmaker.  In 1970 he entered the Torrington Fire Department and retired as Captain in 1998.  He enjoyed traveling, motorcycling, and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Karen, he is survived by a son Edward and wife Kelli of Torrington, and a daughter Angela DeLisle of Cheshire, CT.  H leaves a sister, Caroline Cataldo and her husband Albert of Port St. Lucie, FL; six grandchildren, Matthew DeLisle and his companion Maya Guaman , Daniel DeLisle and his wife Jamie , Niko and Marco Capaldo, Mackenzie and Gabriel Warner; a brother-in-law Pete Gay and his wife Donna; a sister-in-law Cindy Schwartz, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ed’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Wolcott Hall for their kindness and care shown to him and his family.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Graveside services will be held in the spring.
