Jeanne (Desmarais) Samele

Jeanne Samele, 93, Torrington, passed away at Litchfield Woods on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Born in Joliette, Canada on October 12, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles Desmarais and was the wife of the late Frank Samele.
After serving in the Canadian Army, Jeanne was employed at Torin as a machinist until her retirement. An avid church attendee, her interests included hat making, crocheting, and playing bingo.
Jeanne is survived by four sons all of Torrington; Paul, Sr. and his wife, Barbara; Carmen and his wife Darlene; Robert and his wife, Linda; and Michael and his wife, Francesca, as well as seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 15, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St. Torrington. There are no calling hours.
