Jean D. (Dabkowski) Grieco

Jean (Dabkowski) Grieco, 87, of Torrington, CT, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital with her loving family by her side.  She was the devoted wife of William Grieco for 64 years.

Jean was born January 16, 1928, in New Britain, CT, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Kaczprzyk) Dabkowski.  She was employed by the University of Connecticut as a Secretary until her retirement.  A loving and gentle person, she was the backbone of her family. She enjoyed cooking, as well as planning family vacations at Cape Cod and Bar Harbor, Maine. She loved to sew clothes for her young daughters, listen to classical music, and play cards with her friends.

In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by two daughters, Gail Talbot and her husband Ronald of Florida, Vanessa Grieco of Torrington; two grandchildren, Steven Talbot, Eric Talbot, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Dabkowski.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, with the cortege leaving at 12:30 p.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
