James J. Tynan, 55, of Harwinton, CT, peacefully passed away at his home with his family by his side on Friday, March 1, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Connie (Mosher) Tynan.
Jim was born August 26, 1963, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Edward and Lorraine (Singer) Tynan. He proudly served his country with the U.S. National Guard, and was employed by Kimberly Clark as a pipe fitter / plumber. He enjoyed riding his dirt bike and quad. He also enjoyed boating, volunteering at the Torrington Soup Kitchen and spending time with this family and friends. He was a member of the men’s ministry at the Friendship Baptist Church in Litchfield.
In addition to his wife Connie, he is survived by two sons, Cory Hartwell and daughter-in-law Ashley (Brown) Hartwell of Torrington, and Mitchell Tynan of Harwinton; his foster parents, Jim and Kathy Callahan of Bolivia, NC; foster brothers, a foster sister, several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, with a funeral service to be held at the conclusion of calling hours, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Goulet officiating.
