James H. Boutin

Winsted, Connecticut

James H. Boutin passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on June 28, 2024, at UCONN Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Battistoni) Boutin. The son of the late Herman and Helen (Finn) Boutin, Jim was born May 23, 1951, and grew up in Colebrook, CT.

Jim attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College, Waterbury State Technical College, and Oliver Wolcott Technical School where he received his St. of CT certification in Mold Making. He retired from EDAC Technologies as an IT Administrator. Jim enjoyed time well spent with his family and his dog Fabia, cooking and baking, fishing, golfing with his buddies, and time spent in the company of his fellow brother Knights.

 Jim was predeceased by his sister Patricia Boutin. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his two daughters, Jaclyn (B. Lytle) Boutin and Marcie Boutin, along with his grandsons, whom he cherished, Mikey, Xavier, Simeon, Malakai and Justice. He also leaves his brother Jack Boutin and his wife Kathy, along with several nieces and nephews. Last, but not least, he leaves behind many dear friends who always held a very special place in his heart. 

 Jim was a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #22 and a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish in Winsted. Per his request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Winsted from 1-4 pm.
