Coppa, Jacqueline E. (Bouley), 87 years young, went to the light and to her new home, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Jewett City, CT, on June 12, 1933, Jackie was the oldest daughter of the late Omer and Beatrice (Jolicoeur) Bouley. The family moved to Torrington, CT where Jackie would become a lifelong resident and where she met and married the love of her life, Charles F Coppa, who predeceased her in July of 2000.
Along with being a very involved mom, Jackie worked at Blake Motor Lines, Stars Department Store and the dental office of Dr Garbus in Torrington but it was her job working at the Connecticut State Medical Examiner's Office in Farmington, CT which brought her much fulfillment and much pride. Here she worked until her retirement.
An avid reader who loved to travel, spend time with her family, and create arts and crafts were things Jackie delighted in . She especially loved making beautiful and touching ornaments for Christmas gifts which were certainly treasured and loved by all who received them. Jackie sang and with The Waterbury Chorale with whom she performed concerts in Europe, The Litchfield County Chorale Union and lastly with Laurel City Singers with whom she took her final curtain call at age 80!
Jackie made a very big change 3 years ago, deciding to sell her house of 30+ years to become a very happy resident of Keystone at Newbury Brook, in Torrington. There to her delight, she was reunited with many, many high school and lifetime friends. It became a non- stop reunion and she just loved living there. Jackie made friends very easily and those friends became family and were cherished and valued by her all her life..
In October of 2020 with Covid continuing to roar, and Jackie’s health beginning to decline she moved to the home of her daughter Laurie and daughter in law Mary Anne in Poughkeepsie, NY where she lived like the Queen she was until her passing. It was a blessing for her and the entire family.
Left to honor and cherish her memory, are her sister, Sharon Santopietro, her daughter Laurie Coppa, (Mary Anne Tosi) of Poughkeepsie, NY. son Chuck Coppa (Deb Taylor),of Chelmesord, MA, son Stephen Coppa (Lori) of Seymour CT and her very special grandsons, Nick, Michael and Cameron Coppa for whom she carried great pride and unending love. Jackie was also very, very blessed with nieces, nephews and great nephews too! She loved them all.
The family wishes to extend their eternal gratitude to the Hospice Team, Julie Eads, RN, Chris Boyd, Chaplain, Janet Sabatino, LCSW and Terry Blaine, Music Therapist for their kindness, care and respect for Jackie and support for her girls. And gratitude would not be complete without honoring the wonderful angels who cared for Jackie, Ms Lavern, Ms.Deon, Ms Margaret, Ms Anne Marie and Ms. Sophie.
