Litchfield, Connecticut

Inza Marlene Wilcoxon, 86, of Litchfield, CT passed away at home on November 30, 2024 surrounded by her family. She was born on January 8, 1938 in Springfield, OH to the late Lenore Hough and Fletcher Myers. She was a bright light in the lives of her family and those who knew her.

Marlene met and married the love of her life, Darrell Gene Wilcoxon, and they shared 70 wonderful years together. Marlene was active in the church, singing in the choir, volunteering in the church bookstore and helping with coffee hour. She volunteered at FISH and Helping Hands in Torrington and also at the information booth on the Litchfield Green, greeting visitors and sharing the charm of her New England town. Marlene was an avid gardener, enjoyed long walks and dancing. She loved playing board games with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Florida and also to visit family and friends.

Marlene was the first to extend a helping hand to those in need and the first to celebrate an achievement or good news. Her legacy of compassion and love for her family will live on in the many lives she touched.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband Darrell Gene Wilcoxon and her brothers Terry Myers, Randy Myers and Tommy Myers as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Trimble.

She was the loving Mother to Laura Wooden, (Bob Wyatt), Lisa Breakell, (Randy Breakell) and Karen Hubball, (Ed Earle). She was the proud Grandmother of Jeremy Wooden, Vincent Agresti, Nicholas Agresti, Emelia Iasiello, Taylor Hubball and Dalton Hubball. She was Great Grandmother to Gianna, Julian, Rowan and Marco Wooden.

Her family is eternally grateful to the many friends who have been a part of Marlene’s life, especially in the past few years. Special thank yous to Bobbie Dlugokinski, Debbie Costa, Siena Giordano and to Hospice Nurses Amy, Anne, Becca and Vicky for all their loving support, tender care and compassion.

A celebration of life will be held in the Spring for family and friends to remember Marlene’s beautiful life and to honor the gifts she brought to all she knew.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home, Torrington, CT.
