Helen L. (Mella) Serasio, 102, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at her home, Wednesday, May 2, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Frank Serasio.
Helen was born July 14, 1915, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Bruey) Mella. She was employed by the Torrington Company as an Inspector, until her retirement.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary “Dottie” Siddall and her husband Kenneth of Torrington; three granddaughters, Leslie Gattinella, Sandra Friedman, Karen Zordan, two great grandchildren, Maxwell Friedman, Tess Friedman, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, William Aloise, two brothers, Samuel Mella, Henry Mella; and two sisters, Jenny Svetz and Lena Mella.
The family would like to thank V.N.A. in Bantam, and Northwest Home Care in Litchfield for the kindness and services shown to Helen and to her family throughout the years of her home health care.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. A Funeral Service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours Friday evening with the Rev. Robert F. Tucker officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Francis New Cemetery.
