Gloria M. (Germano) Gioiele

Gloria M. (Germano) Gioiele, 92, of Torrington, CT, gently passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Litchfield Woods surrounded by her loving family.  She was the wife of the late Albert M. Gioiele for 59 years.

Gloria was born April 12, 1922, in Torrington, CT, daughter of the late Carlo and Guidetta (Pescarmona) Germano.

Gloria was a kind, loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she is survived by six children, Marilyn (Theodore) Bober of Durham, CT,  Albert (Judi) Gioiele of Torrington, Marcia (Charles) Meneguzzo of Torrington, Louis (Maura) Gioiele of Avon, Robert Gioiele, of Torrington and Gloria (Peter) Ledda of Torrington; eleven grandchildren,  Marisa Meneguzzo, Christina Claps, Carla Luca, Theodore Bober, John Berg, Justin Meneguzzo, William Berg, Katie Berg, Alexander, Curtis and Jonathan Ledda; eight great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Donna Kruppa Gioiele.  The youngest of eight siblings, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Ernest and Joseph Germano and four sisters, Dorina Dillingham, Norma Germano, Carla Lusa, Elizabeth Germano.

The Gioiele would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Litchfield Woods, as well as to Dr. Dennis Gottfried for the many acts of kindness and compassion shown to their dear mother.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, with the cortege leaving at 11:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
