George Donovan, Jr.

George Donovan, Jr., 51, of Torrington, CT, died Friday, November 5, 2021, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Jennifer (Lee) Donovan for 26 years.

George was born November 24, 1969, in Torrington, CT, son of Karen (Sorvillo) Donovan and of the late George Donovan, Sr.  He owned and operated George’s Music Center.

George was a talented musician, he loved to play guitar, had a wonderful sense of humor, and he loved spending time with his family, especially during the Holiday’s.

In addition to his wife Jennifer and his mother Karen, he is survived by two daughters, Christine Donovan and Rachael Donovan both of Torrington; two sisters, Shawna Donovan and Trisha Donovan both of Torrington;  two nephews, Christopher Grillo and Joshua Molon; his mother-in-law, Patricia Lee, as well as many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.    Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.  All attending calling hours and funeral services are requested to wear protective face masks while inside of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice, who provides services to US Veterans.
