Genevieve (Silano) Dubreuil

Genevieve (Silano) Dubreuil, 94, of Torrington, died April 4, 2014 at Litchfield Woods.  She was the wife of the late Rene F. Dubreuil for 67 years.

Mrs. Dubreuil was born on February 16, 1920, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Carmine and Eugenia (Torizzo) Silano.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Dubreuil was a hairdresser for 53 years and owner of the Charm Beauty Shoppe for 40 years.  She was a member of the Goshen Garden Club, the Goshen and Torrington Historical Societies, Goshen Friendly Neighbors, St. Thomas Church Ladies Guild, and a past member of the Litchfield County Hairdressers Guild.

A communicant of St. Thomas Church of Goshen, she is survived by one son, Paul C. Dubreuil and his wife Laura of Torrington; two grandchildren, Kristen Dubreuil of Denver, CO, and Michael Dubreuil and his wife Rachel of Westbrook, CT; one brother, Henry Silano; two sisters, Vera Marchetti, and Maryann Andrews, all  of Torrington, as well as a number of nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Joseph Dubreuil, one granddaughter, Karin Diamond and one sister, Loretta Marcantonio.

Throughout her years, her most enjoyable hours were spent in caring for her home and flower gardens, and time spent with her husband, family and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Thomas Church, 71 North Street, Goshen, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30.   Burial will be held in the family plot at St. Thomas Church Cemetery in Goshen in the spring.  Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a .m. to 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
