Gene "Barry" Poley

Gene “Barry” Poley, 66, of Torrington died Saturday April 22, 2017, at his home.  He was the husband of Sharon (D’Angelo) Poley.

Gene was born August 25, 1950, in Torrington, CT a son of the late Arthur E. and Jean (Lejeune) Poley.

He was formerly employed by Hitchcock chair, Ovation Instruments and currently was employed by Altra Motion as an Assembler.  He was an avid drummer and woodworker who enjoyed riding his Harley.  He also owned and operated Poley Reproductions making furniture and selling to local stores in the Northeast.

In addition to his wife Sharon, he is survived by a son Corey Poley and his companion Gina Lodovico of Thomaston; a brother Arthur E. Poley, Jr. of Barkhamsted CT; a sister-in-law Sherri Poley of Winsted;  sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jane and Noel Turbacuski of New Hartford, Gary and Colleen D’Angelo of Chesapeake, VA; a  grandson Aiden Poley, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother Robert Poley and a sister Brenda Poley Racine.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
