Frederick Raymond Sokolik, of Ocala, FL and formerly of Torrington, CT, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away of a broken heart on January 23, 2917. He was born October 31, 1931, in Torrington, CT to Paul and Mary Sokolik the seventh of eleven children.

He was educated at the Migeon Ave. School and Torrington High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in March 1951. He served aboard the USS Charles P Cecil (DDR 885) in their supply division as cook & baker, mess hall master at arms, ships barber and laundry man. Honorably discharged in March 1955.

He worked at American Brass, Bowser Refridgeration, and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft before returning to the Torrington Company where he had several different positions before finishing as a production planner and retiring after 30 years in 1987. He then worked at the Norfolk Country Club for 8 years in the maintenance crew. He relocated, with his loving wife Carolyn, to Ocala FL in 1997 to enjoy their “golden years”

He belonged to the Triangle Club Post 38, American Legion in Torrington, Colebrook Lions Post 478, and VFW Ocala FL.  He loved horseshoes, golf, amateur baseball, basketball, woodworking, wood carving and grooming his lawn and was an avid NY Yankee, NY Giants, and UCONN Basketball fan.

He is survived by children Paul and Barbara Sokolik, Colin and Lynne Griffin, Marci Sokolik, and Tim Griffin; eight grandchildren several great grandchildren; two sisters Jane Pennington, Marilyn Killingbeck; one brother Robert Sokolik and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Carolyn L. Sokolik (26 days earlier), son Michael Sokolik, sisters Ethel Scherwer, Arlene Walsh, Ruth Phelps, brothers Paul Sokolik II, Andrew Sokolik, Edward Sokolik and John Sokolik.
