Fred Everett Spiegelhalter Jr’s journey on earth ended February 23rd, 2023. He passed after a brief illness at his home on his much loved Cape Cod surrounded by his loving family. Born April 24, 1936, he was 86 years old.
Formerly from Torrington, he is survived by his beloved wife, Carol (Gelormino) Anderson Spiegelhalter, his daughters Karen Wesolowski, Kelly Sachs (Lenny), Jennifer Mathews (Anthony) and his step-children Lisa Anderson Barton (Christopher) and Michael Anderson. He is survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great children as well as 4 step-grandchildren.
Fred lived a full and joyful life. He was a loving, devoted husband, a U.S. Navy veteran /submarine service, an incredible fisherman on his boat , “Always On My Mind”, and a father/grandfather role model to many. He was an avid tennis player, gardener, awesome chef and proudly entertained at his home in Wrinkle Point in West Dennis, Cape Cod. Prior to his retirement he was General Manager for U.S. East Coast operations for Shinsho American Corporation headquartered in Japan. He and Carol traveled the world together including the US, Canada, Latin America, Europe and the Far East.
Fred was predeceased by his first wife, Sandra Browne, in 1986, his parents Fred and Claudia Jensen Spiegelhalter , his sisters Mary Anderson and Lillian Beres.
Calling hours will be 9AM - 10:30AM at Cook Funeral Home in Torrington, Connecticut , on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. Private 11 am burial at St Francis Cemetery Charitable donations : Save the Children.
