Frank Raymond Williams

August 1, 1955 — December 14, 2017

Frank Raymond Williams, Jr. 62, of Torrington, passed away December 14th with his family by his side.

Frank was born on August 1, 1955, to the late Frank R. Williams, Sr. and late Eleanore (Baker) Williams. He graduated from Webutuck High School in Amenia, NY and went on to attend Elmira College. Frank was formerly employed by Rexam as a Foreman. He was a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Torrington for over two decades until his retirement.

He is survived by his three sons and their spouses; Micheal and Shalyn Williams of Torrington, Kale and Melissa Williams of Torrington, Alika and Kimberly Williams of Morris; eight grandchildren, Jesse, Shayla, Landon, Makaiah, Makana, Melody, Eleanore and Sadie Williams; a sister, Susan Clark and her husband George of Hillsdale, NY; his nieces, Sarah Law of MA, Laura Clark of NY and nephew Kenneth Clark of WA.

Frank’s greatest joy came from his grandchildren.  He was always their biggest fan at baseball games, dance recitals or everyday milestones. He was truly honored to be called “Papa”. Frank was an avid pool player, loved Nascar Racing and was member of the Torrington Council of Knights of Columbus, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight and had many close friends. He will be remembered for his big heart, having an ear always ready to listen and giving the best advice to anyone who needed it.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff and physicians at The Smilow Cancer Center, Yale New Haven Hospital and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

Calling hours for family and friends will be at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield Street, Torrington on Tuesday December 19th from 7 pm-9 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Francis Church, 160 Main St., Torrington at 11:30 am on Wednesday December 20th.   Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Francis Church.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
