Frank J. Giordano

May 9, 1929 — May 7, 2023

Winchester Center, Connecticut

Frank J. Giordano, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family May 7, 2023 at his son’s home in Winchester Center, CT.

He was born in Torrington, May 9, 1929 to Joseph and Anna (DeDominics) Giordano.

Frank is survived by sons, Gary (Sherie) of Winchester Center, Joseph (Debbie) of Torrington and Lynn, widow of son, Michael, of Torrington.  Frank also leaves behind four grandsons, Jason, (Whitney) Burlington, Michael (Siena) Goshen, Anthony (Sarah) New Hartford, and Joey, Winchester and five beloved great-grandchildren, Penelope, Harper, Luca, Lennox and Jackson.  Also, his step-grandson, Jacob.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes, and his youngest son, Michael.

Frank was a Navy veteran who served 3 years stationed in Bremerton, Washington.  Following his discharge he returned to Torrington to marry his lovely bride, Agnes Carbone.

Frank was a young entrepreneur who launched several businesses throughout his career, including his paint company, Torwin.  He had many other interests, including being a founding member of the Norwesconn Divers and a scuba volunteer for the CT State Police Recovery Team.  He was also an antique car enthusiast and an avid collector of die cast model vehicles.

A totally endearing part of his personality was his art for colorful storytelling. Family and friends enjoyed many memorable hours of listening to tales from his Navy years, various business adventures, family memories, the flood of ’55 and many more.  What a privilege it was to share these special times with him.

Arrangements will be provided by Cook Funeral Home and will be private at the family’s request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Special thank you to the caregivers at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and the Foothills VNA for their compassionate care.

We suggest any memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
