Felix J. Minelli

Felix J. Minelli, 89, of Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Valerie Manor.  He was the husband of the late Martha (Chundak) Minelli.

Felix was born April 18, 1926, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Felix and Lucy (Marciano) Minelli.  He served his country with the US Navy, Underwater Destruction Team, during WW II.  A longtime hairdresser and barber, after his retirement he worked in the cafeterias of several schools.  An elaborate craftsman in many arts, he enjoyed creating stained glass, wood carving and cane making.  He was a devoted husband and loving father, and enjoyed spending time with children, especially his many nieces and nephews.  He was a member of the V.F.W., and of the St. Peter Holy Name Society.

He is survived by one daughter, Adrienne Berg, one brother, Richard Minelli, and one sister, Dolores Pretak, all of Torrington, as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carmella Schaller, and Josephine Mainella.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015, with the cortege leaving at 11:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon.  Burial will follow in St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors.  Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent to the Minelli family by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com
