Emil S. Gianni

Emil S. Gianni, 93, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Norma (Frati) Gianni for 69 years.

Emil was born October 29, 1930, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Vincenzo and Carmellina (Brancato) Gianni. He served his Country with the U.S. Navy, honorably discharged during October 1957. He was employed by Prudential Insurance as an Agent for 30 years, until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and was proud to recall the “hole in one” he achieved on the 17th hole at the Torrington Country Club. He was a member of the Torrington Elks Club, a communicant of St. Peter Church, where he volunteered as a Head Usher for over 40 years.

In addition to his wife Norma, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Mallia (Paul) of Port Orange, FL, Lisa Gianni of Bristol, CT; three grandchildren, Matthew Bernier (Adelaide), Heather Zygmont, Michael Mallia, as well as great grandchildren Brayden and William Zygmont.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening, October 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
