Edith J. Lupucy

Edith J. (Diorio) Lupucy, 99, of Torrington, CT, died peacefully Sunday, December 29, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Michael S. Lupucy.

Edith was born on December 5, 1925, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of the late Anthony and Marianna (Porreca) Diorio. She was employed by the City of Torrington, Tax Collector’s office, until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Walsh of Torrington, CT and Barbara A. Wood and her husband Daniel Wood of New York City and Woodbury, CT and two grandchildren, Lily Wood and Ethan Wood, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael E. Walsh.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT, to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
