Litchfield, Connecticut

Edith E. (Nord) Kozlowski, of Litchfield, CT, peacefully passed away at the age of 99, on July 22, 2021, one month shy of her 100th birthday, at Brandywine.  She was the wife of the late Vincent A. Kozlowksi, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2012.

Edith was born August 23, 1921, in Devon, CT, the daughter of the late Hulda and Gustav Nord.  Her parents immigrated from Visby, Gotland, Sweden.

Edith was employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles until her retirement.  She was a member, as well as served as a past president of the Business and Professional Women’s Club.  She loved to cook for her family, was a master of the sewing machine, and had a wonderful sense of humor, even in her last days.

She is survived by two daughters, Virginia “Ginger” Dean (David) of Litchfield, CT, Nancy Fantl (Peter) of Texas; three grandchildren, Stefanie Cisowski (Dan), Dan Fantl (Jen), Mike Fantl (Caitlyn); great grandchildren, Michaela and Brendan Cisowski, Heather Dean, Avery, Hayston and Harper Fantl, as well as soon to be born great grand twins, Hudson King and Emma Hart Fantl.   In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Richard Butch Dean, and three sisters, Astrid Levine, Rai Jontow, and Pat Carnevale.

The family extends their extreme gratitude to the wonderful, loving staff at Brandywine of Litchfield, where she resided for over 8 years, and to the Hartford Healthcare Hospice for their kindness.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
