Eda (Stolfi) Gerardi

October 27, 1930 — July 31, 2017

Eda (Stolfi) Gerardi, 86, of Torrington, CT, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT.  She was the beloved wife of Vito A. Gerardi who predeceased her in 2008.

Eda was born October 27, 1930, in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Ralph and Maria (Sileo) Stolfi.  She was employed by Connecticut General with the Claims Management Department until her retirement.  A member of the Democratic Town Committee, she volunteered at the Polls on Election Day for many years.  She loved to travel, and did so throughout Europe, and especially enjoyed the time she spent in Costa del Sol.  She was a phenomenal cook, and loved to do so for her family and friends.

She is survived by three sons, William Gerardi of Hebron, CT, Ralph Gerardi of Chicago, IL, Robert Gerardi of Elberon, NJ; two sisters, Genevieve Settinari of Montclair, NJ, Gloria Toner of Fairfax, VA; two grandsons, Jonathan Gerardi of Columbus, OH, Christian J. Gerardi of Valencia, CA; as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one grandson, Willie Gerardi.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4, 2017, with the cortege leaving at 9:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Entombment will follow at St. Peter Mausoleum.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
