Donald Fantozzi, Sr.

Donald Fantozzi, Sr., 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Friday, November 13, 2015, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family following a brief illness.  He was the beloved husband of Martha (Cioppa) Fantozzi for 60 years.

Donald was born May 1, 1934, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Pat and Matilda (Ast) Fantozzi.  He was the proprietor of Fantozzi Garage until his retirement.  He was a member of the Torrington Elk’s Lodge and of the Lion’s Club.

In addition to his wife Martha, he is survived by two sons, Donald Fantozzi, Jr. and his wife Janet, Joseph Fantozzi, both of Torrington; one daughter, Donna Pleil and her husband Mark of Winchester; five grandchildren, Danielle Vesper and her husband Matthew, Donald Fantozzi, III, Tony Rizzi, Joseph Fantozzi, Dominic  Fantozzi, as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Fred, and one sister, Virginia.
