Dolores Anne (Dlugas) Romanczuk, 87, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully at her home on January 31, 2024. Dolores was born on February 14,1936 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Stephen V. and Mary (Terifay) Dlugas. Dolores graduated from Torrington High School in Torrington, CT.
Dolores was an independent insurance agent and retired from G.W. Jones & Sons in Huntsville, AL. In addition, Dolores was a member of National Insurance Women of America, Beta Sigma Phi International, and enjoyed the Encore Club of Newcomers in Huntsville.
Dolores is survived by her husband of 64 years, Leonard – three children: Lee (Dan) Dumbacher of Potomac, MD, Chris (Karla) of Hampton Cove, AL and Glenn (Arlene) of Madison, AL. She also leaves behind her six grandchildren: Erin Dumbacher (David) of Washington, DC, Dana Dumbacher (Chris) of Falcon Heights, MN, Brad Dumbacher of Washington, DC, Christopher Romanczuk (Mary) of Houston, TX, Brendan (Ella) Romanczuk and Taylor Romanczuk, both of Huntsville, AL and her five great-grandchildren: Jude, Ada, Bowie, Phoebe and Louis.
Dolores also leaves one sister, Alice (Toby) Norris, of Huntsville, AL, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2024, from 10am until 11am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Chapel, 1055 Hughes Rd., Madison, AL. Reception to follow Mass in St. John’s Parish Hall. A private burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 10, 2024, at New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, CT
