Diane "Dee" M. Middleton

Diane (Brisson) Middleton, 80, of Torrington, CT, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, after her recent diagnosis of lung cancer.

She was born June 30, 1943, in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Charles L. Brisson and Marie (Tanguay) Brisson. She was married for 64 years to the love of her life, Joe Middleton, II.

Diane is a retired Benefit Analyst from The Hartford Insurance Group. She has enjoyed a full life with many years of boating, special trips to Block Island, Nantucket, and The Vineyard with amazing boating friends. After retirement and touring some of the country, she traveled with her husband every winter to Cape Canaveral, FL. She loved the outdoors, hiking, biking and skiing in her younger days.

In addition to her husband, Diane leaves a son and his wife, Joe and Lori Middleton of Torrington, and a daughter, Kim Middleton of East Hartford, CT. She is also survived by her beloved granddaughters, Allison Lynn Middleton and Paige Marie Middleton. Diane has been blessed throughout her life with many wonderful friends and two very special dearest (sister friends) Betty-Anne Lee and Elaine McNeely. 

Diane always said she would like to be remembered as a good friend and a great grandmother. She had many wonderful pets throughout her life, but the special one, the last one, is her beautiful Himalayan cat named Oliver.

Diane was preceded in death by both her parents, two older brothers, and her beloved grandson, John Michael Ambruso, III.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 160 Main Street, Torrington, CT, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
