Diane Marie Conlon Castle, 52, of Torrington, CT, passed away April 23, 2018, at home.
Diane was born September 27, 1965, in Norfolk, VA, daughter of Priscilla (Gioia) Conlon of Torrington, and of the late Paul Conlon. In 1998, she started her career in Payroll as a Payroll Human Resources Assistant at Nidec American in Torrington. For the past four years, she was a Payroll Consultant, employed by PayTech, Inc. of Colorado, traveling coast to coast, consulting clients. Traveling brought her to many places where she could return to vacation. Upon obtaining her passport, she traveled abroad to Ireland and Jamaica. Her family was most important to her, spending many happy times together with her parents and her children, including trips to NYC, BMX track, Chuck-E-Cheese, Hampton Beach, and many family dinners at her grandmother’s house.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Michael Steven Conlon Castle and his wife Jaime; a daughter Laura Yvonne Conlon Garth and her husband Benjamin; a brother Paul W. Conlon, Jr. all of Torrington; two sisters, Belinda Shinn and her husband Randall of Prairieville, LA, Karen E. Duey ; a niece Samantha Vaccaro and her husband Seth; a nephew Luke Shinn; her Aunt Lauretta Pipa Glover, her Uncle Tony and Aunt Anne Gioia of Harwinton, a cousin Elizabeth Gioia, as well as many other cousins and friends. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by Uncle Richard Pipa and cousin Shawn Pipa.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
