David L. Swanney, Jr.

David L. Swanney, Jr. 81, of Torrington, CT, passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Flint) Swanney.
David was born April 7, 1935, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late David L. and Marie (Butcher) Swanney. He owned E.T.C. Management and was a Business Consultant, until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his koi fish pond.
In addition to his beloved wife Shirley, he is survived by one son, Peter Swanney of Plaistow, NH; three daughters, Martha Vitale of Mont Vernon, NH, Mary Ellen Clark of Plant City, FL; Rebecca Vitale of Finleyville, PA; one sister, Marion Dalfino of Tampa, FL; 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, David A. Swanney.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 12:00 noon at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon.
