Daniel J. Gerardi

Daniel J. Gerardi, 92, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away at his home on Sunday, January 23, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Joanne (Ammirato) Gerardi for 51 years.

Dan was born January 10, 1930, in Torrington, CT, the son of the late Leonard and Angelina  Gerardi. He served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict, honorably discharged in 1953.  He was employed with the Highway Department by the State of Connecticut for 24 years, until his retirement in 1982. Dan was a member of the Torrington Elks Lodge #372. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, duck pin bowling, and woodworking.

In addition to his wife Joanne, he is survived by one son, William Gerardi and his wife Darlene of Sebastian, FL; one daughter, Kathy Mills, and her husband Pat of North Bent, PA; one sister, Jennie Gerardi Hickson of Torrington, CT; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery with full military honors accorded. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. and are requested to wear protective face masks while inside of Cook Funeral Home for Covid protocol.
