Colin P. Fox

Colin P. Fox, 73, of Harwinton, CT, passed away on July 12, 2015, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was born in Hartford, CT on December 15, 1941, to the late Julius and Mary (Gardner) Fox.  He was the husband of Mary (Winters) Fox.

Before starting his own company, he worked as a transmission engineer for ESPN and was a member of the original team that put the station on the air in 1979. He owned and operated Fox Engineering, where he installed and serviced satellite dishes.  He was a ham radio operator.  A communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton, he served as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist, being commissioned in June of 1988. In March of 2007, he was awarded the St. Joseph Medal for his church volunteerism by the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Besides his wife, Mary, Colin is survived by his son, Bradley (Sandy) Fox, of Chaplin, CT, his daughter, Tammy Smith of South Windsor, CT and his grandchildren, Zach and Jake Fox and Shane, Danielle, and Christian Wilson.  He is also survived by his brothers, William (Linda) Fox of Falls Village, CT, Harry (Chris) Fox of Norfolk, CT and James of San Rafael, CA and his sisters, Betsy Daigle of Manchester, CT and Sheila Fox of Wellesley, MA; sister-in-law Louise (Jim) Hammond,  as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Garvey and Daniel Fox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Harwinton.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Road, Harwinton, CT 06791. Donations in Colin’s name may be made to the Harwinton Volunteer Fire Department, 158 Burlington Rd., Harwinton, CT 06791 or to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  Condolences to the Fox family may be sent by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com
