Christine Elizabeth (Gauthier) Carangelo of Torrington, CT, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022, surrounded by family.
She was born in Torrington, CT on July 11,1959, to Marcia (Guildford) and the late Francis Gauthier. Chris worked for the New Hartford Public Schools for over 25 years as a special education paraprofessional, where her patience and bright personality positively touched the lives of so many children. She was always up for an adventure and loved taking vacations and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid fan of country music (especially Garth and Trisha!) and loved spending time at the beach, as well as shopping for shoes and good bargains. She was a proud member of the ALPHA ETA chapter of the BETA SIGMA PHI sorority. A fan of dancing from an early age, she continued to take classes at Doncin School of Dance as an adult and was always one of the first on the dance floor at weddings. Chris also loved watching NASCAR on Sundays and cheering on her favorite driver (#48) at the races.
Besides her husband of 38 years, Ken Carangelo, she leaves a daughter, Cynthia Carangelo and her grandson, Jackson Cooper; her mother, Marcia Gauthier; a brother, Michael Gauthier along with two sisters and their spouses, Valerie and Mark Middlebrook and Heather and Brandon Rubbo; as well as several nieces and nephews that all meant the world to her.
Calling hours will be held at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
