Catherine (Velten) Minnerly

Catherine (Velten) Minnerly, 102, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Valerie Manor.  She was the wife of the late Howard J. Minnerly, Sr.

Mrs. Minnerly was born April 7, 1919, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Christina (Schmidt) Velten.

She was a devoted homemaker to her family.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, loved to crochet and take walks.  She was a member of the Fishkill Senior Center.

She was survived by three sons, Howard Minnerly, Jr. (Sharon) of Torrington, CT, Barry Minnerly (Denise) of Norwalk, CT, Steven C. Minnerly of Torrington, CT; one sister, Elizabeth Smith; two granddaughters, one grandson, one great grandson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT to St. Peter Church, (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main St., Torrington, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will be private.  Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
