Catherine Anne Maravel

Catherine Anne Maravel, 54, Torrington, CT, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was the daughter of the late James and Anne Maravel.

She was a graduate of the University of Missouri - St. Louis with a B.S. in Education. She was a dedicated, early childhood teacher for children with special needs. Katie was a loving sister and friend who had a lot of love in her life. She loved her fiancé, Paul Humphrey, who preceded her in death. She loved her cat, Charity. She loved the New York Yankees. And she loved her work as a teacher! She was looking forward to lunches with her friend, Jean Hotchkiss, who recently moved back to Torrington. She was looking forward to a Maravel family reunion in June in Maine, where she will be greatly missed. Katie was a strong-willed woman with a wicked sense of humor in any situation. Memories of her cracking everyone up will keep her close.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles Maravel of Torrington, Peter Maravel and his wife Molly of South Carolina and one sister, Alexandra Maravel and her wife Katherine Hermes of Torrington.
