Catherine Croci

Catherine Croci, 90, of Torrington, CT, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Antonio P. Croci.

Mrs. Croci was born March 28, 1924, in Chelles, France, daughter of the late Marco and Giovanna (Tiramani) Croci.  She went to school in France and graduated with a teaching degree.  Upon graduating, she and her family moved back to Italy and ran messages for the resistance in Northern Italy.   She then met her husband, married in 1955, and traveled with him to the United States during 1957 where she raised their two sons, John and Daniel.  She was a communicant of St. Peter Church, a member of the St. Peter Holy Rosary Society, and enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

She is survived by her two sons John L. Croci, and his wife Lisa of Torrington, Daniel A. Croci and his wife Sage of Litchfield; one sister, Jeannine Rouldes of Les Planques, France; two grandsons, Ian Anthony Croci and Brandon John Croci, as well as several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Dominico Croci.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington to St. Peter Church,  107 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.  Entombment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
