Caroline "Dolly" T. (Valerio) Neri

Caroline T. “Dolly” (Valerio) Neri, 94, of Torrington, CT passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Valerie Manor with her family by her side.  She was the wife of the former Torrington Police Chief, the late Anthony A. Neri.

Caroline was born December 1, 1921, in Bristol, CT, daughter of the late Peter and Gaetana (Marseglia) Valerio.  She was employed at Torrington High School, working in the Cafeteria until her retirement.  An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed baking, making homemade pasta, crocheting and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Seymour and son-in-law Peter of Torrington, Sandra Kisielewski and son-in-law Gene of North Canaan, Mary Ann Seiser and son-in-law Louis of Torrington; five grandchildren, Jennifer Seymour, Angela Sherman and her husband Zachary, Sarah Lyon and her husband John, Jeffrey Seiser, Emily Kisielewski; one great grandson, Dylan Dunham; one brother, Daniel Valerio and his wife Genevieve of Bristol, as well as several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Albert Rene Fenn, two brothers, Mario and Gerald Valerio; one sister Lena Fiorente, and two nephews, Joseph Fiorente, Jr., and George Winegar, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, with the cortege leaving at 10:00 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church, 107 East Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.   Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
