Carole Bielik, 85, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 10, 2024, at Litchfield Woods in Torrington, CT. Carole, known for her warm heart and generous spirit, will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Carole was born on September 14, 1938, in Torrington, CT, to Cataldo and Rose Maria Lombardo. She dedicated many years of her life by serving meals to others, beginning with being Head Waitress at Dee and Joanne's Restaurant on Water Street until they closed in 1987 and continued at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in the Dietary Department until her retirement. Carole's selflessness extended as she volunteered with Friends of Hospice and The Warner Theatre. Her favorite role, however, was "helping" Mrs. Claus at Christmas Village, a cherished tradition she joyfully partook in for many years.
In addition to her parents, Carole was reunited in death with her beloved husband, George Bielik, and her two sons, Keith Bielik and Perry Bielik. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Lombardo. Carole is survived by her daughters-in-law, Sandra Bielik of Sanborn, NY and Judy Bielik, of Torrington; her loving grandchildren, Shannon and Ethan Bielik; as well as her nephews, Kenneth and Michael Lombardo, and her niece, Lisa Glenn.
Carole's family would like to express their gratitude to Atty. Margaret Roraback for her unwavering kindness and support, along with the staff of Litchfield Woods for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
A graveside service to honor Carole's life will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis New Cemetery in Torrington, CT. The service will take place at 863 South Main Street. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carl Bozenski’s Christmas Village, c/o Torrington Armory, 153 South Main St., Torrington, CT 06790.
