Bruce A. “Etche” Etchegary, 68, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was the beloved husband of Deborah (Follert) Etchegary for 44 years.
He was born May 21, 1950, in Torrington, CT, son of the late Frank and Mildred (Massut) Etchegary. He was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Technical High School. He then was employed at the Torrington Company for over 30 years and continued his employment with them when they became the Timken Company. He was currently employed by Modelcraft Company in Plymouth, CT as a Machinist. He enjoyed nature, bird watching, hiking, and was a fan of all sports. His hobbies over the years included photography, fishing, wood working, and metal detecting. After work he would like to relax in his recliner, play with his cat Jesse James, and watch Jeopardy with his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Etchegary of Torrington; one brother, John Etchegary of Waterbury, CT as well as several nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Alan and a sister Gail.
He was a quiet man with a great sense of humor and was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He will forever be in our hearts.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington.
