Barbara A. (Baker) Kreidwise

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Barbara A. (Baker) Kreidwise, 89, of Middletown, CT, formerly of Harwinton, CT, peacefully passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family.   She was the beloved wife of Howard Kreidwise for 67 years.

Barbara was born May 16, 1933, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the late Captain William and Grace Baker. Barbara volunteered in many aspects of her children’s life, as well as an active church member, Charlotte Hungerford hospital volunteer and a American Red Cross volunteer for many years.  She was employed by The American Red Cross and the Washington Agency as an administrative assistant until her retirement. Barbara and Howard traveled many places enjoying all 4 grand slam tennis tournaments, spending many winters in Marco Island FL. and enjoyed numerous trips that gave them wonderful memories. Barbara was a fantastic cook (famous for her Baltimore crab cakes) as well as a talented seamstress and knitter.

In addition to her husband Howard, she is survived by a son, Karl Kreidwise of Cheshire, CT his wife  Kate Nicoll, a daughter, Karol Denise Brzozowski of Rocky Hill, CT and her husband Richard Brzozowski; six grandchildren, Alex Nicoll, Kaylee Kreidwise, Gabrielle Brzozowski, Liam Nicoll, Jake Brzozowski, Maya Kreidwise.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 17th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles Street, Torrington, CT. Internment will follow the service at St. Paul’s’ Memorial Garden.
