Barbara E. (Slinker) Jacobs

Barbara E. (Slinker) Jacobs, 79, of Torrington, CT, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Alexander W. Jacobs, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 30, 2015.
Barbara was born on November 14, 1936, in Columbus, Indiana, daughter of the late Leonard and Renda (Johnson) Slinker. She worked at Hannah’s Bakery as a clerk until her retirement.
She is survived by two sons, Alexander W. Jacobs, Jr. (Margaret) of Torrington; Daniel Jacobs (Lori) of Torrington; one daughter, Julie DeMichiel (Jeff) of New Hartford, CT; seven grandchildren, Molly Spino, Helen Jacobs, Tim DeMichiel, Lisa Albreada-Ponte, Daniel Jacobs, Jr. Sylvia DeMichiel, Krysta Jacobs; three great grandchildren, Ryan Patrick, Emily Patrick, Aria Albreada-Ponte, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services have been entrusted to Cook Funeral Home.
