Barbara A. (Graziani) Holmes

Barbara A. (Graziani) Holmes, 79, of Riverton, CT, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Geer Nursing Facility.  She was the wife of the late Peter U. Holmes, Sr.

Barbara was born June 29, 1943, in Torrington, CT, the daughter of Roland and Mary (DeFranceschi) Graziani.  She was employed by Bureau of Education and Services for the Blind, as a Social Worker until her retirement.

A voracious reader, she also loved to travel and when at home always loved to knit and crochet, tend to her vegetable and flower gardens and solve word search puzzles.  She was a volunteer at the Torrington Lions Club for many years and enjoyed representing the club at the Goshen Fair.

She is survived by one daughter, Anita Holmes of Riverton, CT and one brother, Roland Graziani and his wife JoAnn of Torrington, CT; grandchildren Kelli VanDeusen and her fiance James Frederick, Carissa (VanDeusen) Daniel and her husband Damian Daniel, Justin Holmes and girlfriend Charlotte Fleming, Rick Dipippo, Alyssa (Dipippo) Edinger, Elexa Holmes, Corey Holmes and Taylor Holmes, as well as two great grandchildren, Ava Daniel and Liliana Holmes, and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Peter Holmes, Jr. and one daughter, Leslie Holmes.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT.  Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
