Annunziata (Rinaldi) Calabrese, 82, of Torrington, CT, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Francesco “Frank” Calabrese.
Annunziata was born March 26, 1937, Province of Benevento, Pontelandolfo, Italy, the daughter of the late Nicola and Nicolina (Guerrera) Rinaldi. She was employed by Colonial Bronze as a Machine Operator until her retirement. She enjoyed making sauce and cooking for family and friends, as well as tending to her vegetable garden. A hard working wife, mother and grandmother, she always took care of her family, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandson.
She is survived by her son Frank Calabrese, Jr. and his wife Sheree of Torrington, CT; two brothers, Michael Rinaldi of Torrington, CT, Carlo Rinaldi of Harwinton, CT; two sisters, Ida Molitor and Anna Nuhn both of Torrington, CT; one grandson, Frank Nicholas Calabrese, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at VITAS and the medical staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital 5th Floor for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2019, with the cortege leaving at 10:30 a.m. from Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, to St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 99 East Main St., Torrington for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
