Ann V. (Kess) Sczucka

Ann V. Sczucka, 94, of Torrington, CT. passed away Monday, Feb.1, 2021 at River Glen Health Care Center, of Southbury, CT.  She was the wife of the late Nicholas Fusco and the late Peter Sczucka.

Ann was born September 8,1926 in Torrington, CT. of the late Anne (Jozsa) and Michael Kess, Sr.  She was a member of the first graduating class of St. Francis School, 1940, Torrington High School, class of 1944, and graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing Cadet Program, class of 1947.  She was employed by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital as a Registered Nurse until her retirement.

She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Fusco Thrall and her husband Alan of The Villages, FL., and their children Roger Thrall and Daniel Thrall,  Marianne Fusco Donahue of Southbury, and her children Sara Donahue and partner Kyle Kiernan and Nicholas Donahue and wife Jaclyn, stepdaughter Patricia Fairchild and her husband, William of Torrington, and their children Kerry Platt and husband George, William Fairchild and wife Cheryl, and stepson Peter Sczucka and wife Patricia of Torrington, and their daughter Molly Sczucka.  She also had 6 great grandchildren and a niece and nephew.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Kess, Jr.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish) 99 East Main Street, Torrington, CT.  There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Peter Church.  Burial will follow at St. Francis New Cemetery.  Relatives and friends attending funeral services are reminded to follow CDC guidelines for COVID prevention, including social distancing and wearing protective face masks.
